Who’s going to RULE?

“He makes nations great, and destroys them;
He enlarges nations, and guides them.”
 Job 12:23 (NKJV)
I have always loved history and the cause and effect whereby nations and cultures have been shaped, changed, and reordered. I have come to know that God indeed reigns sovereign over all that He has created while allowing His creatures to make choices seemingly independent of Him.  Some have likened Him to a “Divine Chess Master.”  While all creatures have the free will to choose, there is no choice anyone, or any nation, could make, in which He can not use for His ultimate will and purpose.
There are many themes that form the basis of Christian belief.  These run as a “silver thread” from Genesis to Revelation. Redemption, salvation, restoration to name a few. One of the themes consistent in that same vein is found in the question, “Who is going to rule?”
For a Believer, the question is answered the moment we turn to Christ giving Him lives. In essence, He has asked us to give up our agendas and follow Him.
Any conflict we find in our lives can be reduced to the question, “Who is going to rule?”
Eternal Life is secured by a single eventful life choice to accept Jesus. Abundant life, on the other hand is not automatic! It only occurs as we daily answer the question…”Who is going to rule?”
He promised us that if we would follow Him, (give up our agendas) we would never walk in darkness but would experience righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
(John 8:12 NKJV)
Today we find such conflict in world events and nations are rising against nations.  While God does not “control all things”, He most definitely is “in control of all things.”  Seems like double-speak?  No, what I am saying is God has the ability to “use all things even terrible things for His purpose.” He is able to bring GOOD out of every seemingly terrible situation!
Therefore, Jesus’ words to follow Him because He is the light has meaning in the world we find ourselves today!  Give up the your agenda for His! Let Him rule!

God’s Forgiveness

Hebrews 10:12
“But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins FOREVER, sat down at the right hand of God,”

One of the hardest truths for all people, whether Believer or Non-believer, is that God has forgiven every single person of sin and offense against Himself. Every person, even the most vile person, who has ever lived or who will ever live on the planet is forgiven by God! This is because the eternal work of the cross of Jesus. He provided not only redemption of mankind but the “forgiveness of sin” for all of mankind!…Forever…past, present and future!
1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation (atonement) for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
The problem of acceptance of this truth lies in the misunderstanding of the true nature and character of God!
       ~ He is love
       ~ He is merciful
       ~ He is forgiving
~ He is accepting of all who approach Him

Because of who He is, He not only saves, redeems, and a restores….He FORGIVES! and has forgiven every person forever! It is a gift of His nature and like any other gift the FORGIVENESS of God is received and not earned…
